Scott is a dynamic back court offensive threat. She can deliver daggers from distance off the catch or off the dribble. She showed in camp that she can play on the ball and be a threat to score behind ball screens. At the next level, she should provide an immediate scoring punch as an off the ball shooter. However, with years of experience she could develop into a scoring combo guard that delivers double digit points nightly. The trait that should ensure success at the next level is her ability to lead. She brings instant energy to the court and can positively affect teammates around her. Scott showed growth in her game off the dribble from the last time we evaluated her at the Check Me Out Showcase. Now she will need to become more efficient with her dribbling. Learning how to get from point A to B with less dribbles will make her an even tough player to guard.
Scott is one of the nation's premier shooters in her class. Her ability to stretch the defense with her long range jumpers make her an impact player nearly everytime she steps on the floor. Her footwork and offensive game off the dribble is developing. We expect to see her mid-range game and footwork to be far ahead in a year. Her physical strength and aggressiveness keeps her from being just a player on one end of the floor. The key idea for Arieal to work on coming out of the camp is patience on the offensive end. Understanding that her shot does not always have to come quickly will help her get more quality shots in the future.
Scott is a 5'10 guard in the class of 2018 that was one of the most competitive players at camp and it paired well with her great feel for the game. She has a high motor and brought a lot of energy during drills and during the showcase games. Scott also proved to be a defensive specialist due to the fact that she tracks the ball well and is a physical rebounder. With her size, she can really be a mismatch threat against smaller guards on the interior, so capitalizing on opportunties to get offensive rebounds and extra posessions is key for her. Scott moves good without the ball and displayed her ability to create space from her defenders and was able to knock down shots from the perimeter. Moving forward, she can look to develop greater consistency in her game and improve her ability to score off the bounce. Overall, Scott is a talented player and is one to watch over the next few years.
