Film Room Evals - October 6

Film Room Evals - October 6
Aftyn Heiden

Ryleigh Davis of Thayer, Missouri, has a fresh film room evaluation.

After a busy month of September in the Film Room that included new evals on prospects in multiple states coast-to-coast, our staff is hard at work producing Player Cards for what we’ve seen. Here is a look at a few of the latest evaluations over the past month:

Cooper Cox

North Carolina, Class of 2029

I had the chance to evaluate Cox’s game multiple times over the last 90 days. She brings a lot to the table skill wise with her ability to make open shots and find ways to get into the lane off the dribble. Cox has a knack for how to make things happen when she has the basketball in her hands. In that regard, there are some similarities to Class of 2027 Guard Reece Davis in stature / build / style of play. Cox is a more than capable option to handle the basketball against pressure defense. Where Cox can continue to develop over the next six to 12 months is in her willingness to communicate vocally from the opening tip to the last buzzer. Cox skill set at this stage makes her one of the better Class of 2029 guard prospects in the class regionally.  – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB

This was my first time getting a chance to breakdown Davis game. She was named as an All-State selection during her freshman school season scoring over 550 points in the process. It's evident right away that Davis can really let it fly from beyond the arc. She made 72 3-pointers as a freshman showing consistent range out to the 3-point line with the ability to shoot to 24-25 feet. In that regard, Davis is already showcasing herself as a potential next level specialist. She had an impressive showing on the UAA circuit in the spring / summer showcasing herself as a true shot maker. Davis also showed that she can create off the bounce getting both feet in the paint. She’s good using either hand around the rim and doesn’t mind playing through contact to finish with her left. That’s rare for an underclass prospect who is a right-handed jump shooter. Look for Davis to keep improving her physical strength over the next 12 months. Some of that is just time doing what time does maturation wise. The foundation is there for Davis to be a true scoring option with elite shooting range for years to come.  – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB

Myla Duber

Florida, Class of 2030

This was my first time breaking down Duber’s game. Her willingness to defend on the basketball jumps out as a major positive right away. That’s an area where most of Duber’s classmates will struggle to match her competitive nature in that regard. She will get in a stance, move left to right and complete the play with her hands vertical without fouling. She’s talented on the offensive end too consistently getting two feet in the paint to finish with her right hand. Keep an eye on Duber as she continues to mature physically. She has the skill set to get downhill going left. Consistently using her left hand to finish at the rim will be a big addition to her arsenal. Duber will only grow in stature from here. I fully expect her ability to play through contact especially going to her left hand to take a noticeable leap over the next 12 to 18 months.  – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB

Jocelyn Eskew

Indiana, Class of 2027

I’ve been on the floor with Eskew multiple times over the past six weeks. Her game lends itself to being a versatile option on the perimeter capable of playing either forward spot. Eskew has the outside shot needed to keep opposing defenses honest. She has also shown the upside needed to keep blossoming as a shot making option as she heads into her junior season. That ability is hard to come by for most. Eskew has a chance over the next 24 months to home in on that consistency and become a double digit a game performer at Southridge. She was a Second Team All-Conference selection in 2024-25. Look for Eskew to build on that success this coming season. Physically, she has the size and length to be a tough matchup for opposing defenders. Her game is coming around especially in one-on-one offensive situations. Don’t be surprised at all if Eskew has a breakout junior campaign.  – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB

Aftyn Heiden

Georgia, Class of 2028

This was my first eval on Heiden in over a year. It’s noteworthy how much her physical frame and game have matured in that time span. She’s a legitimate varsity contributor for coach Brandon Cerezola at Starr’s Mill and should play an even bigger role in her second season than she did in her freshman campaign. Heiden can be impactful on both ends of the floor with her agility and speed. A lot of what happens next will be based on her willingness to take and make the open 3-point shot. That can be a separator for her as she makes her way through high school. Heiden’s ability to play off the basketball in the backcourt in addition to spending some reps on it give her versatility a lot of guards don’t possess. She can keep working on being vocal with what she’s seeing happen on the floor. It’s so difficult for coaches to find prospects who can lead with a consistent on-floor conversation.  – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB

Graycie Murray

Oklahoma, Class of 2028

POSITIONG

Undecided

This was my first time evaluating Murray’s game on Film. Right away, her ability to play with energy on both sides of the hardwood is noteworthy. Most perimeter prospects don’t bring the type of intensity that Murray does around the basket. She’s hunting opportunities to get her hands on the basketball whether it’s a deflection, rebound or steal. When I add that to Murray’s ability to keep the floor spaced with the corner 3-pointer, she immediately becomes a prospect to track closely into her sophomore season. Look for Murray to keep working on her pull up jump shooting over the next 12 months. She is already such a high-level spot up shooter who can also drive to attack. Showing a consistent stop and pop jumper only adds to her overall bag.  – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB

Jace Sanderson

Georgia, Class of 2027

POSITIONG

It’s easy to see right away that Sanderson is a next level shot making option. She brings height to the perimeter standing close to 6-foot now. Sanderson’s ability to shoot the basketball from beyond the arc is a rare quality. It puts her in a space that few inside the Peach State will be able to match in the Class of 2027. In that regard, Sanderson’s spacing ability reminds me of current North Georgia shooting guard, Averie Jones. Like Jones in her high school days, Sanderson will get downhill off the bounce when the defense hits her with a hard closeout. Sanderson is a capable midrange jump shooter and can also get to the rim. She has multiple scholarship offers already in large part to her willingness to not take possessions off defensively. Sanderson is putting in the work to keep adding strength to her frame. That’s a place for even more growth over the next 12 months as she heads into the back half of her high school career. Sanderson excels in the classroom as well sporting a 4.0 GPA as one of the best students in her graduating class. She’s a 3-sport standout at Gilmer with track and volleyball accolades to go along with being a First Team All-Region selection in basketball last season.  - Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
