Wagner, 6'0 guard in the 2023. By now, Wagner is a familiar face and a player we have seen quite a bit over the last couple of years. What was great about this last showcase was her offensive skill set. She showed she is starting to develop a fade-away jumper and it adds a lot of depth to her arsenal. Continuing to develop consistency and the poise to know the right time and place for that shot is key for her growth in that specific area of her game. It can also be noted that she kept her eyes up in transition, capable of making full court passes and has the confidence to play the game the way she see's it. Her rebounding ability was equally impressive and her pursuit to get to the ball was with great urgency. Also, in terms of areas to focus on, freethrow consistency is something she can be super specific about because with her length and style of play, she will find herself at the line a lot. Overall, there appears to be no ceiling to her growth because of the upward trend she is on right now with her hardwork and developing skillset.
Wagner is a versatile wing-forward who has skill and size. She sports great versatility. She has perimeter guard skills where she can hit 3s consistently with a high release off the catch and dribble. At the same time, she worked well in the pick and roll and finished off the move in the lane. More than labeling her as playing a singular position on the court, she is a player that makes plays. The one area where she will want to maximize is her lateral explosiveness. If she is going to play mostly on the perimeter she will need to prove that she can defend quick wings.
Wagner is a 5'10 forward in the 2023 class that has a tremendouse amount of upside. She showed she can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket, has good touch around the rim and has vision passing the ball to her teammates. She has a great feel for the game and is so fun to watch because the way she plays is so intense and engaged in every aspect of the game. Going forward, she needs to work on defending without fouling and developing quicker footspeed. With her length, she is tempted at times to reach across players shooting at the rim, but she has to recognize she has elite size and committing to positioning herself and playing straight up is what she needs to transition into. Overall, Wagner just has so much potential that sky is the limit on where her impact is going to end on the floor if she continues to develop her dynamic abilities. Her court sense and vision to see plays develop and maximize opportunities is incredible to watch in this talented young 6th grader.
