Boone is a young point guard with a wealth of promise in front of her. Her footwork is pristine at any level. The fact that she has mastered the basics at such a young age is a testament to the work that she has put in. It should be of no surprise that her attention to details in drills resembles that of a veteran already. She specializes in distributing now. She has the capability of scoring the ball in volumes. However, for her to become a lead scorer she will need to mature in understanding of when to dish and when to take advantage of a mismatch. This will come with experience.
Boone is a floor general with an advanced understanding of the game at a young age. Her skill set is already polished as well. She can initiate the offense for her team at the top of the key and deliver timely passes to her teammates. Perhaps the area that sticks out so much about Boone’s game at this moment is how well she handles with either hand. Watching her dribble, you are not sure if she is left-handed or right-handed. Her jump shot is good at the time is solid. We expect to see her become more of a long-range sniper as she adds strength and size. The most immediate area where Boone can improve her game would be to become an even greater threat to create space north and south on the perimeter. Putting pressure on the defender to retreat rather than to only defend her side to side.
