She is very technically sound and has put a lot of valuable work into her craft. She does a lot of things with and without the ball. Offensively, she isn’t consistently attacking the rim, but when she sees a lane, she finishes nicely. She doesn’t force anything and just sets her team up for success. She’s very quick and her ball control is crisp. She showed her shift with the ball and balance coming into her midrange jumper. Overall, Hanson knows how to maneuver the game and where she can impact most.
Hanson is a 5'7 guard in the 2022 class that has good floor presence in the backcourt position. Offensively, she has nice rhythm and release on her 1-2 step shot that grants her solid consistency. She found a variety of situations to show off her ability to knock down shots from the perimeter from the top of the key. In the lane, she has good change of direction with her ball-handling to get in the paint and finish all the way at the rim or pass out for an assist. Her shiftiness allows her to be in the mix on a lot of opportunistic plays in transition and in the half court. She also handles pressure well and does a good job of navigating the offense. Going forward, being more vocal is an area she can project more from in a leadership standpoint because she is capable of carrying a lot of the floor general responsibilites. Developing her midrange game and scoring off the bounce is also another facet she can hone in on because she has such a smooth release on her shot. Overall, Hanson has dynamic scoring abilities in the lane and on the perimeter, so it will be great to see her growth over the next year.
