Carter is positioned to become one of the better shooting specialists from the state of Arizona in her class. She has a quick release, but more importantly she is accurate when she gets a clean look at the bucket. Her footwork is the key to her success as a shooter. She gets her shoulders square to the basket and has a high follow through. Carter could develop more parts of game especially with the dribble. Pump fakes into 1 dribble pull-ups or step-backs when the defense over commits are tools that could be in her toolbox in the future.
Carter is a guard who can "let it fly." She has range consistently out beyond the arc. In this way, she can be an effective weapon for teams who need to find ways to stretch the defense outside the paint. She is good with the ball in her hands too. Carter is far from a stand still shooter as she is good at reversing the ball and assisting to cutters moving towards scoring positions. Her high IQ in the classroom becomes apparent on the court as well as she understands the game at a high level. Her ball skill is also good enough where she can make moves to score going down-hill towards the basket. Her challenge moving forward will be to add variation to her dribble moves. Developing counter moves when the defense works to cut her off will help round out her offensive repertoire.
