For a middle school prospect, Trader showed the footwork needed to get north and south off of the dribble while covering ground. She's a talented prospect in that regard state wide if not regionally. Trader will project as a shotmaker in large part due to the ability to create a good shot and her tall release coupled with a right wrist flick. Trader's followthrough is crisp already. As she gets older and stronger, look for Trader to continue speeding up her shot mechanics but not rushing either. It will be worth noting to see how that part of her shot is progressing again in late-September. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Trader has good size in the backcourt at an early age. She has the qualities of a new age big guard with a potential 5'10"-5'11" projection. She can shoot the basketball and has a clean followthrough. That will help Trader keep the floor spaced as well as defenses honest. So much of what Trader's development will depend on now is time doing what it does and giving her a chance to get more practice / live game reps in against really high end talent. She has the skill set to be a really good backcourt prospect. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Trader is a combo guard who sees the court and pushes the ball up the floor. She finds her open teammates on the cut, is a willing passer, unselfish and can handle the ball in transition as well as run some point. If she finds a dependable scoring option, most fitting would be a quick catch and shoot jumper, she'll be able to keep defenses honest and only strengthen her ability to find teammates.
Trader is a brilliant decision maker for her age. She has good court awareness, vision and discernment. She has a feel for the game far beyond her years. She can handle the ball, shoot the midrange consistently and right now is bigger than most kids her age to be effective in the paint.
