Thorne is a left-handed forward with major upside. She presents the inside-out threat that many college coaches are looking for in a modern offense. She can set the high screen at the top of the key and be a threat to finish on the roll or hit the pick and pop jumper as well. Her touch on her jumper really stood out to us in this evaluation. One area that Thorne should work on is eliminating the fade on her jump shot. Keeping balance and keeping everything moving towards the basket is key for efficient shooting.

This was our staff’s first time training with the left-hand dominant forward. Her activity level and willingness to focus on detail was evident right away. She has the frame to be a true hybrid forward at the next level. Thorne has the athleticism and bounce to be a tempo changer defensively but the skill, IQ to be a system fit on the other end. As her jumper improves, it will become even harder for opposing defenses to guard her.
“Thorne is a fantastic option at the hybrid forward position. She rebounds, finishes, runs the floor and is a very sharp kid both on and off the floor. An elite academic option, Thorne is a potential Ivy League caliber recruit. She is capable of grabbing a double-double on any given night and helped guide her school team to a 21-4 record in 2019-20. — Brandon Clay
