Blum’s confidence has grown substantially over the last 18 months. She’s playing with an extra bounce to her step that didn’t exist during my first evaluation in the summer of 2023. Blum played a very competitive middle school travel schedule during the winter that’s paying dividends now. Seeing repetition after repetition against high caliber players is slowing the game down for her processing wise. Whether it’s shooting the basketball or looking to attack off the bounce, Blum is more assertive. Look for that same energy to translate vocally and to the defensive end as well. Blum has emerged as one of the better shot makers in the region. The key for her the next 12 months is to take that ability and add the balanced footwork it takes to make those shots at the high school level. Blum is already well on her way to doing just that. She has a whole host of tools in her bag that should allow for continued growth off the catch and shoot or off the bounce. Blum’s game is slowing down. As that happens, she doesn’t rush clean looks or take tough contested shots. Those are places where she can excel throughout her school career. In working with Blum live plus watching her film over the last few weeks, it's evident that the sheer amount of quality reps she's getting on a weekly basis are starting to take effect in a positive way. Blum is shooting the basketball with the type of confidence that I would want to see from a prospect of her caliber. She'll be a specialist with real range beyond the 3-point line in that regard at the high school and even college level so confidence is a must. Blum's form looks good and is consistent. Blum's game continues to grow and flourish with each Filmroom evaluation. She is a consistent shotmaker from the outside when she has time and her feet set. That's such a hard quality to find in young prospects. We actually had a chance to talk in-depth about what's next for her footwork. Blum keeps her feet inside the "Box" of her shoulders but has a tendency to play up on her tip toes. in due time, she'll flatten that out to give her better balance off the bounce if there's a hard closeout from the defender. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Blum has shown real growth since we trained for the first time back in June. She made the best move off the dribble that I've seen from her to date during gameplay on Saturday. It's easy to watch Blum taking the instruction she's getting from myself or Xavier Johnson then trying to put it to use. For a shotmaker like Blum, learning how to create off the bounce is another dimension of her game I expect to see blossom over the next 12 months. That gives her yet another weapon on days where Blum's outside shot isn't falling or the defense closes out hard if she is hot. -- Brandon Clay
