Lewis is a left handed guard who has a lot of skill. She is a shot maker and a handler. She does a good job getting down hill towards the bucket with her first step and can hit the reversal jumper on the perimeter. Becoming more confident in the mid-range and pull-up game should bring her round out her skill set nicely.
GiGi will follow the path that her older sister, Torri Lewis (MS-15), has blazed coming out of the northern Mississippi area. However, do not expect the younger sister to get lost in the shadow of her older sibling. GiGi is a fundamental player who can spot up and shoot in the role of a shooting guard. She also has the tools to develop into a solid point guard long term. Lewis has a frame that will become stronger over time.
The challenge for GiGi will be playing with more explosiveness and strength at a face pace. She is the type of player who is good at not turning the ball over, but we would like to see her create more plays in the future at the risk of making a mistake. Much of this development will come with physical maturity.
