BUFORD, Georgia – In its eighth year, the Elite Basketball Academy All American Camp has provided a competitive environment to grow the games of players from across the country. A staple on Labor Day Weekend, the 80 players spent most of the afternoon and evening developing their skill sets with floor coaches such as former Tennessee star Andraya Carter and EBA lead trainer AP Penland.
Here are some highlights from the first day of action.
Greta Kampschroeder (Naperville, Illinois), The Truth Basketball – 2021
Kampschroeder is a 6-foot perimeter player who has a college frame and she’s just entering her freshman year of high school. She has a smooth way about her game. She can get to the rim easily in one dribble and showed good balance and the ability to finish at full extension.
Gigi Lewis (Olive Branch, Mississippi), TN Glory – 2018
Lewis is a crafty guard who impacts the game in several ways. The 5-7 lead guard is shifty with just enough wiggle in her game to keep defenders off balance. She excelled not only in scoring and ballhandling drills but was really locked in on making post entry passes against pressure.
Azsha Michael (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota), Tayler Hill Elite – 2018
Michael has been blazing a trail this late summer, following up her strong showing at the Check Me Out Showcase in Seattle, Washington, with a fantastic first day in suburban Atlanta for EBA. Her strength, power and ability to be a vocal leader really stood out over the course of the afternoon.
