2018: Check Me Out Texas
Lopez, 5'0 point guard in the 2023 class. She is an active guard and appears to have the court savvy to develop into a young floor general. She plays with high IQ and a strong understanding for the game. With her ball skills, she was shifty navigating the floor and wanted to compete regardless of the age group that was guarding her. Offensively, she moved well without the ball, kept good spacing, and while continuing to develop strength is key for her scoring impact, she is going to grow each year. Focusing on shooting consistency and having balance pulling up in the midrange are areas she can develop specifically to go with her command. Defensively, she was making the right reads on swing passes and stayed in good relation to the player she was defending. Overall, Lopez came to the showcase with strong energy and stood out with her confidence to compete against seasoned high school players.
