Thompson is a confident, crafty guard. She showed her ability to handle the ball versus pressure effectively. Most importantly in this regard, she was confident in putting the ball in her weak hand and attacking the defense in either direction. Her passing ability sets her apart from other lead ball handling guards. She can deliver the ball to her teammates on time, on target. Her body control in traffic is also a highlight of her game. She can step through in traffic and find the crevice to make the extra play. As Thompson matures, she should learn how to become a scoring threat herself. The foundation is set.
Thompson is a 5-foot-5 guard in the 2025 class. In skill work she is showing a high level of ball skill and ball control. She has a rapid fire in her ability to pound the basketball. She showed a very good feel on her mid range jumper and has the ability to be a playmaker scoring at the rim or passing when she draws the defense. Watching her play early on, you can tell that she definitely understands how to be a point guard. She plays well in transition and he knows how to find her teammates in the right position to be successful. She has a little mid-range pull up that I love to see out of a player of her style.
