Theisen is an extremely long, agile face up four that’s effective in varied ways. She’s long and athletic, which supports her ability to drive, cut, and slash to the basket and finish over and around defenders. She has a smooth 15-18 foot jumper that she can connect with consistently. She has some deceptive ball handling ability and wiggle that catches unsuspecting defenders by surprise. She’s a cerebral, intelligent player, savvy and has some play making ability added to her skill package. Her length is an attribute to her defense, ability to bother shooters, obstruct passing lanes and help protect the rim. She continues to have subtle improvements over time with plenty of upside. Her ability to get stronger, bulk up a little and present a more physical presence interiorly will be a huge step in a positive direction.

Theisen has grown a tremendous amount since we first saw her last year at the Check Me Out Showcase. Her inside game is still developing, but her presence around the rim on the both ends of the floor is strong because of her size and skill set. Offensively she keeps the ball high in her scoring arsenal and does a good job of finishing around the rim when she gets angles. Where she can look to improve is not taking a dribble before she makes a move at the rim. Dialing in a drop step or a face up move to shoot will really help her create space, but also put her play at a level where most players are not gifted enough to play at. Her size and skill set provide a huge advantage against any defender, but focusing on the footwork before the shot will be key for her impact going forward.
Theisen is a young post player with the size and length for both the four and the five at the next level. She has a developing skill set in the post and showed the ability to catch the ball and make a play when she has time and space. Getting stronger and learning to play through contact will be key in her development as she will probably play around the rim and facing the basket as she progresses. Adding a confident, midrange jumpshot could also be useful.
