Rice is 5'9 guard with a tremendous amount of strength and power. What stood out about Rice's presence early on was her desire to compete. Offensively, shes a lefty scorer and finishes really well at the rim going left. We also saw her draw the defense and dish to her teammates on the other side of the rim. She showed she is capable of getting the ball where it needs to be and has good IQ to make those reads. Going to the rim, she attacks the basket going in a straight line drive very well, and uses her power to create space at the basket. Developing more change of direction and change of speed will help her become more dynamic navigating the floor and create more opportunities to find space to elevate into her shot in the midrange. Her ball handling is sound, and she works very hard in the skill work setting to pick up new combo moves. At times, she will spin on the block into her shot which we saw her convert on going to the baseline, but if she can use that skillset spinning into the midrange, that will really open up more consistency for her. Overall, Rice brought energy, extra hustle, and a strong desire to impact the game.
