Smith brings a fantastic blend of skill, length and athleticism to the game. Her shot making ability raised eyebrows during her run with the BCS Training Select teams during July. She has range out to well beyond the arc. At the same time, she equally apt to attack the lane with the dribble when the defense closes out too tightly on the perimeter. She also possesses a fine bit of ball skill to be a secondary playmaker on the weakside of the offense. Put all together and Purdue is getting a well-packaged prospect that should only get better as she adds muscle with a consistent strength and conditioning program as a freshman on campus. – Coach Hemi

Smith’s game is silky smooth. She doesn’t waste any motion or time getting to her spots off the bounce. The future Purdue Boilermaker has the skill to be a high level floor spacer off of the catch and shoot. Adding that into her game elevates Smith, who is already an Elite 100 prospect nationally, into a new category production wise.

Smith has had a fantastic 18-month run where she has emerged as one of the Hoosier State’s premier rising seniors. The future Purdue Boliermaker was back at it here showing an activity level that was hard for opposing defenders to match. She’s also a major factor on the defensive end of the floor taking on all comers off the drive. As Smith keeps showing increased confidence in her jumper, look out for another major jump in production.

Smith is a unique player with her skill set and athleticism. She has the ability to walk into Purdue and be an impact player early in her career. Much of Smith’s progression will depend on her continuing to add strength and picking her spots to get a basket early. Smith showed throughout the day on Saturday that she is one of the Hoosier State’s top prospects in the senior class. In that way, she’s more than earned her seat at the table.
