Rucker is a do-it-all guard with a sweet shooting stroke and a chip on her shoulder. Rucker might come across as a kind East Kentucky kid, but when she hits the floor she is about winning. She brings a blue-collar mentality and sacrifices for the team consistently. After working with Rucker during the BCS Select Training Team during July, it became clear that Rucker is a high IQ player who is willing to do whatever is needed to help the team succeed. She often got the offense started by setting flare screens or making a timely basket cut. She was equally apt to defend 6-foot-3(plus) tall centers in the paint or take charges on overly aggressive guards in transition. Her consistent spot up shooting from the arc should gain her immediate consideration by college coaches. However, we believe that her value is greater than just being a role-playing shooter. The intangibles that Rucker bring to the floor are so great that coaches would love to add her to their roster in several situations. Rucker is a solid ball handler in the half court and in the open court. However, she is limited a bit by her athleticism. Maximizing her strength and conditioning should be of top priority for her as she prepares for the collegiate level. – Coach Hemi

Rucker continues to impress our staff with her attention to detail and shot making ability. She is a literal swiss army knife on the floor with the skill set to play multiple positions and the toughness to defend players with four to five inches on her. Rucker’s skill set and versatility lend itself perfectly to the modern day college game regardless of level.

Rucker has been absolutely wonderful to train this summer. Her game has blossomed as she will hit a 3-pointer on one end of the floor then take a charge from the biggest kid on the floor the next possession. She is going to be a bigtime addition to a roster at the college level. If anything, Rucker’s ability to keep learning when and where to take shots will help her game elevate.
Rucker is a sharp shooter from distance. With just a little bit of space, Rucker can put points on the board in a hurry. Her ability to get ready to shoot before the ball gets to her is key for her shooting ability. Rucker proved that she is more than just a shooter, however, at this camp. She is willing to do the dirty work and brings great energy regardless of what drill she is participating in. She also showed transition finishing ability. The junior also added in some hesitation moves to keep defenders off balance. We will keep an eye on Rucker’s development as she prepares for her junior campaign with Boyd County HS, which has had plenty of success in the state of Kentucky.
