2017 & 2018: Check Me Out Texas
Steward is a 5'8 guard in the 2020 class that has a really good point guard presence to her game. She can attack the basket in a way that forces defenses to help and has a few different options shes opened up for herself. She either gets into the midrange for a pull-up jumper, gets to the paint to draw and kick, or gets all the way to the rim and pass fakes to score at the goal. Steward has a high IQ and a good sense to her decision making ability. From the perimeter, she will shoot the 3-ball when she has time to get her feet set, and really doesn't put herself in any bad situations to make a lot of mistakes. She is very athletic, plays sound on-ball defense and rebounds well defensively. Areas of improvement for her going forward will be continuing to dial in her midrange because she is so active getting to the paint and developing consistency beyond the arc. Overall, Steward was one of the most active guards at the showcase and competed with a lot of urgency.
