Cabral does a nice job of keeping her head up on her dribble when shes navigating the offense from the point guard position, which shows her command on the floor is to keep the wheels turning. She’s sees the floor, pushes the ball up on the pass. She’s a facilitator who does well within a structured set, and we have also seen her knock down the 3-ball in the half court, which is important for her impact to keep defenses honest. She has a great feel for the game, anticipates well. She communicates well on defense and plays well off the ball, positioning herself correctly to ball and her player. Going forward, Maylene can learn to become more comfortable with the ball in her hands in terms of making plays at the rim and being a more assertive offensive player. She lends herself to deferring a lot right now. Her confidence is key for her growth at that next level. Overall, she's a veteran Check Me Out player who brings a great worth ethic and a coachable mentality to the showcase, which is an approach that can often be forgotten.
Cabral is a smart player that does a lot of things on the floor by playing solid. She is not a break down ball handler, but really runs well within an offense and can knock down shots. She plays tough and has time to develop her midrange game. If she can continue to be a strong shooter from beyond the arc, and find a comfortable midrange off a 1-dribble pull-up, her game will reach a level change. Cabral is a great teammate and a player that coaches love to be around because she is so coachable.
