In basketball there are versatile players that give their team many different options during the course of a game. That is exactly what Nieters, a 6-foot-1 power forward, showed this weekend at the Spring Showdown. Her size and versatility often caused mismatches for the competition. Not only can the three-star forward post strong on the block to score, Nieters also showed that she has the capability to step out and knock down shots from the perimeter with range beyond the arc.

Nieters plays well facing the basket and once she catches she attacks the rim aggressively. Inside the paint, she doesn’t shy away from contact. That skill coupled with her high basketball I.Q. and keen court vision allows her to create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. As she continues to improve and get stronger physically, you can expect Nieters to be at the top of a lot of coaches’ lists this club season.

AROUND THE RIM

Victoria Harris of Snellville, Ga., was impressive for the Georgia Hoopstars this weekend. All areas of her game are developing. Harris is making good decisions with the basketball and is developing her shot from the perimeter. She is a powerful player in the post.

Makenna Pouengue of Lilburn, Ga., also of the Georgia Hoopstars, played well this weekend. Her jump shot is coming around which will make her a more complete player offensively. Pouengue shot the ball well this weekend.

Jennifer Tindi of Conyers, Ga., has real size in the post at 6-4. She makes her presence known in the paint and alters a lot of shots. Tindi is athletic with strong hands in traffic.

Taylor Tucker from Covington, Ga., had a good showing at the Spring Showdown. Her aggressiveness on the boards was impressive. Tucker has the ability to play facing the basket and can score off the dribble. She has solid range out to 17 feet.

Shambria Washington of Ocala, Fla., is a slashing point guard that can create her own scoring opportunities. Washington makes things happen with the ball in her hand. She gets to the free-throw line a lot where she has a smooth stroke and a high percentage success rate.
