Makalusky has the length to play either forward position. Her shooting ability makes her a tough matchup for opposing defenses out to the 24 foot range. Makalusky is one of the country's better shot makers in the frontcourt in that regard. She will let it fly early and often. As she keeps filling out and getting stronger, expect Makalusky's production on both ends of the hardwood to keep growing. She's come a long way since our first training session just before the COVID lockdown in February 2020. There's still plenty of run room left for Makalusky to keep blossoming into one of the nation's premier prospects. -- Brandon Clay
Makalusky's shot is smooth on the release. She posseses real length on the wing already with the skill and frame to be effective at either forward position. The next step for Makalusky is learning how and when to get her shot off in game against really good players. Part of that will continue to emerge naturally as her frame fills out. -- Brandon Clay
Makalusky is a wing who earned high marks in our notes at our last academy for her shooting ability. However, in this setting she appeared to be even more comfortable making plays off the dribble. She appears to have good instincts for the game and can make plays for herself in a variety of ways instead of just being a spot up shooter. The big area of improvement that Makalusky should focus upon is playing lower in a stance, on both ends of the court. Defensively playing low is essential for matching up with smaller, quicker wing players. Offensively she can improve how quickly she can get her shot off by catching with her knees bent. – Coach Hemi
Makalusky has a chance to be the next great shooter to come out of the Hoosier state. Her length and silky shooting stroke are a rarity to find on the circuit. She showed a quick, consistent release from the arc and even showed the aptitude to attack the basket when the defense closed out too tight on her. The one area where the 6-1 wing can improve upon is playing lower in a stance. This will help her on the defensive end as well as her overall athleticism on the court. -- Coach Hemi
