Kocis displayed her basketball IQ during this camp. She has terrific instincts and knowledge in knowing how to play the game defensively. She gets to the right spots consistently. On the offensive end Kocis is a knockdown shooter and shows leadership. Kocis has room to grow physically and we know that will come soon enough as the guard is still just in middle school although she exhibits confidence like a high school veteran.

Kocis is a young guard who is still filling out and growing as a prospect. She shoots and handles the ball with confidence. She is the ideal handler who can run the team and distribute to her teammates. As she grows physically, we would like to see her become more confident in leading others vocally. -- Coach Hemi
From the Brandon Clay Spotlight Workout
Kocis was a problem on the floor when she traveled to Atlanta to train with us in February. She’s improved noticeably since then. Kocis was hitting 25-footers inside of a drill during the Academy. That skill is hard to find in elite upper class prospects so to see a middle schooler doing it is uncommon. Kocis already possesses the work ethic it takes to be good long term in this game if she’ll stay on this path.
Kocis is a fundamental guard who plays the game with a lot of savvy. She is a creative ball handler and passer. She delivers passes to her teammates with either hand on target. Her footwork on her shot and with the ball in her hands is advanced. Her fundamentals should serve her well as she grows physically. The one area that Kocis should focus upon is taking the dip out of her shot. Working on starting her shot in one spot and not moving it down will help her get her shot off more quickly and efficiently. -- Coach Hemi

Kocis was a welcome addition to the spotlight group. She already has a skill set tailor made for the new age wave of scoring guards emerging across all levels. As Kocis adds more reps and situational reads to her mental database, I fully expect her to become a top flight guard as a result.
