Since my last evaluation on Koch in 2024, she has become her school’s all-time leading scorer as a sophomore. She has already posted over 1,200 career points with two seasons remaining to play. Koch’s diligence to improvement plus on and off the floor leadership cannot be overstated. Koch’s physical maturation is allowing her to make the plays in real time that I saw her setup to make during her middle school days. She is attacking the lane consistently even applying pressure in a matchup with National Director of Skill Development, Xavier Johnson, in this eval. For Koch, displaying that level of assertiveness early and often this club season will be a major key to unlocking the next part of her growth. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
I've had multiple evaluations now on Koch via my Film Room and in-person over the last three plus years. This one was a little different as Koch is starting to show signs of leadership that haven't been this present in previous evals. As Koch starts to mature into being an upperclass level prospect age wise on the floor, her communication level is growing with age. Koch has all the tools in her skill set to make plays from the Point Guard position. She is both a shot maker and a creator off the bounce. The next 12 months will be telling in terms of Koch body's willingness to allow her to add strength to her current frame. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Koch is one of the better shotmakers off the bounce or off the catch that I've seen inside the Hoosier State. Koch's ability to keep her mechanics steady and consistent are a major part of her success. She doesn't get sped up or rattled often. A large part of that is attributed to Koch's footwork off the move. She keeps her feet underneath her shoulders which lets her quick her shot off in a timely fashion. Koch can continue to build on her guide hand finishing as tall as her shooting hand. In that aspect, future NBA Guard Reed Sheppard has one of the nicer followthrough finishes that I watched during the 2023-24 season. On the night before her first school season game, Koch was in the gym with us working on her game. She is poised for a big opening freshman campaign based on how she's developed over the summer. She is shooting the ball well with the quality footwork we want to see from a lead guard. Koch is utililizing the post play in the feed action as well as pick and roll play too. As she keeps working on sticking the landing on her jumper, Koch's game will only progress from here. -- Brandon Clay
Koch's shooting has been a major part of her success to this point. She's a consistent shotmaker with the mechanics needed to be a threat out beyond the 3-point range. As she fills out physically, making sure that her feet and shoulders stay square through the landing of her jumper will be a key point of emphasis.
