Davidson is a basketball powerhouse who not only displays profound offensive capabilities but has also established herself as an elite defender. Standing at 6-foot-1, her significant height is only one aspect of her formidable presence on the court. She boasts an impressive wingspan, which when combined with her foot speed, makes her troublesome for opponents.
Defensively, Davidson stands out as one of the premier defenders nationwide – arguably the best. Her heightened sense of anticipation, coupled with her active hands, makes every possession a challenge for the opposition. Her skills aren't just limited to guarding her counterpart; her knack for snagging rebounds and her weakside shot-blocking ability affirm her status as a defensive powerhouse. She is equally adept at guarding both inside the paint and on the perimeter.
On the offensive front, Davidson’s agility in transition is second to none, making her an incredibly challenging assignment. Her speed, combined with her effortless ability to shift direction from right to left and vice versa is remarkable. Davidson showcases an uncanny ability to finish at the rim from both sides, loft floaters over defenders, and possesses a credible threat from range.
Davidson’s speed with the ball can’t be overstated. Even for defenders back in transition, she can get on them so quickly while they are still trying to decide when to step up to stop the that it’s futile 1 on 1. The number of easy baskets she can find in a game make her one of the more efficient scorers in the country. The fact that she is so impactful on both ends of the court keep her in the discussion at the top of her class nationally.
Davidson is one of the top players we saw all weekend. She can just get to balls other players can’t. She is at the rim every time she catches the ball on the perimeter. Very tough player to guard because of her size and basketball acumen. She can shoot the 3 and has great handles. Defensively she makes it tough for offenses to come into lane with her timing and length defending the rim. Did I mention she can facilitate off the bounce? Made some great passes off the dribble to a teammate in the paint. We don't see players like Davidson come around very often. There is no lid on her ceiling in the future.
- - Strength
Davidson, 5-foot-11 forward out of West Linn, Ore., had a great showcase in Seattle. In the dribbling session of camp, she had impressive rhythm and ball control. Pushing the envelope on ball speed is her next task because she already has the skill to do movement at a fast speed. During breakdowns, she showed is a lefty with a high release point and good one-two step footwork. Only in the class of 2025, Davidson has great court vision, incredible upside and has a strong, strong impact on the floor. She's opportunistic driving to the rim, shows good awareness with her footwork near the rim and is a serious shot blocker. Continuing to add range and strength to her game is just adding that much more depth to her play over the next few years. Overall, this class of 2025 forward has a higher ceiling than most players she will go toe to toe with. Its early in her development, but a continued trajectory for her could put her at top tier of athletes in her class.
