Smith is a proven threat from beyond the arc but has recently increased her range to well past 20 feet and added the ability to consistently get seperation off the dribble to her bag. Smith’s play continues to develop and grow everytime we see her. She is relentless in her approach to growth and it shows in her consistency. She is capable of playing both on and off the ball.
Smith is a point guard with pristine footwork and a feel for the game. She shows off her confidence with the ball in her hands. She can finish on the move in traffic with floaters and great body control. She also can play-make for her teammates with the pass. She set up the ball screen with slick sidestep dribbles and then thread the needle to teammates who cut to open areas. Working on attacking and finishing with her weak hand more consistently should be a top priority in the offseason.
Growth growth and growth. Smith has continued her journey and has picked up so many court savvy skills along the way. She has brought the floater into her arsenal. She is shooting the 3-balls so purely and with confidence. Watching her run the office today gives us so much confidence in her ability to be a glue player for a team. She is threading the needle on a lot of her passes. Players who can facilitate and score without dominating and overdribbling is great to see and will make her a coach's dream.
Smith has grown into a great floor general and is officially a CMO Veteran. Her growth and confidence in the game has been phenomenal. Her style of play is heads up and she's skilled to take a well practiced floater in the lane, which she showcased several times. She's shifty in the paint and has confidence in her left hand. She does a good job of drawing and kicking offensively. After she passes, she moves without the ball to get separation from her defender. She can knock down the 3-ball and uses the on-ball screen well to either come off and reverse the ball or dump down low.

Smith is a guard out of Camas, Wash., that has had great development since the time she started coming to the CMO at a young age. Her ball handing and control has grown each year, but there has been a huge step made with her ability to put it all together. In the breakdown session, she showed strong combo moves into a 1-2 step pull up on balance and on target. It was the rhythm that was most impressive. Another aspect of her game that appears magnified is her shiftiness with the ball in her hands. She is using the hesitation and change of speed change of direction extremely well. On the perimeter, she knocked down a 3-ball off the bounce and used the runner in game play after she had a nice head fake to create that opening. It was very heads up and strong decision-making on her end. Going forward, turning the corner off the ball screen to look to get in the midrange and focus in on developing more strength are two things that will add to her offensive impact right away. Overall, Smith is on an upward trajectory in terms of growth and it will be great to see where she levels this time next year.
