Hawkins game has really evolved since our first evaluation over a year ago. What she lacks in prototypical stature, she more than makes up for with her skill set and competitive nature. The left-hand dominant point guard is seeing the floor well and making plays against other high level backcourt options. For Hawkins, the next step is showing that she can be a consistent shot maker from the outside with a one-motion release. As she keeps progressing, that's the next item on her development checklist. -- Brandon Clay
Hawkins is a natural leader on the court. She talks the game is a natural for distributing the ball to her teammates. A team that needs stability from the lead guard spot will get it from the rising sophomore. Her ball handling is quick, and she can navigate around opposing defenders. Hawkins has room to grow on the defensive. Although she will never be the biggest kid on the court, she can be the sneakiest. Keeping vision away from the ball will help her anticipate and get steals and deflection. However, that cannot happen if her eyes are locked into her opponent.

Hawkins is a young guard that is coming into her own as a prospect. She is a feisty competitor that is not afraid of contact when putting the ball on the deck. The lefty has a sweet stroke from distance and is a potential specialist when her feet are set. As it stands right now, Hawkins is a lead guard with good fundamentals and mentality to excel. Her challenge will be to maximize her physical capabilities. She may typically be on the shorter end of players who will be on the court at any time. However, we believe that Hawkins has to make an impact consistently.
Hawkins is a young guard with a wealth of experience and skill. She is a competent shooter on the perimeter and can attack the lane with the dribble. Her fundamentals carry her even though she often plays versus players that are bigger or more physically mature than her. The left-hander projects to be a lead ball handler but could also play on the wing in a shooting role. The challenge for her as she moves from the middle school to high school level is gaining confidence with the speed of play. Learning how to play in control and not get sped up to make unforced mistakes will be key. – Coach Hemi

Hawkins is a dynamic young guard who has a chance to really grow from this initial evaluation. She’s got a fantastic work ethic usually found in guards who already have high school experience. Hawkins is ahead of the game skill wise and effort as she waits for her physical development to run its’ course. That’s a good place to be.
