Brown is a high IQ player capable of filling several roles on the court. Her leadership and willingness to be vocal allow her to be a lead handler in spots. She can also play off the ball and hit open jumpers or attack gaps with the dribble. Brown’s instincts and knowledge of the game are ahead of her actual age in the game. The challenge for Brown heading into her senior year and as she prepares for college basketball should center on physical training and conditioning. Being able to keep step with guards in the Missouri Valley Conference defensively should be of top concern in her off-season training. – Coach Hemi

Brown is a tough cookie. She is one of the rare players in the game today at the high school level who can actually pull off the Draymond Green style of play. Brown has the skill to handle the ball at the point then defend a bigger 4 player on the other end of the hardwood the very next possession. Most games, Brown will be an effective wing player primarily but that versatility will serve her well at the next level.

Brown continues to make an impact every time we train with her consistent improvement. Her jumpshot mechanics were improved just two weeks after our last training academy. Brown’s development comes in large part due to her vocal nature on the floor. In many ways, she is an extra coach on the floor. She sees the game how it’s supposed to be played.

Brown has the size and strength to play as many as four positions on the floor. She was an absolutely fantastic fit for the roster bringing a unique blend of skill and toughness to the Select team. Brown’s willingness to compete on every possession will help set her apart from the other kids in her size range at the next level. She looked comfortable letting the 3-pointer go as the weekend went on. That part of her game can really separate her in college.

It’s hard for most young prospects to still be effective on days where their offensive game isn’t clicking. That was not the case for Brown on Friday night as she helped Brandon Clay Select battle to a hard fought victory with her energy on the defensive end of the floor. During the Academy on Saturday, Brown got back to her normal scoring ways attacking the rim and converting on open shot attempts. She never misses a chance to grow her game.
