The only thing “middle school” about Ollivierre’s game is her size. Her competitiveness, quickness, skill set, confidence, and pretty much every other metric scream seasoned high school player. We noted this spring in Texas that we’d like to see more patience before she put the ball on the ground to attack and she’s already showing more discipline and signs of a good decision maker. That said she was still aggressively looking to make plays.
Ollivierre is coming into her own as a prospect. The middle school guard showed competence in the areas of shooting and ball handling. Although she is still on the shorter side, her longer arms give us reason to believe that she will stretch out to a guard with above average length. She brings a positive energy to the court and a good feel as a lead handler. Her spot up 3-pointer was consistent as well. The biggest area of improvement that Ollivierre should look at is not forcing the issue with the dribble. Playing with pace and learning when to attack and when to back dribble is critical.
Ollivierre is a middle school aged guard who already has the mental capability to lead a team. Her ability to be vocal and get teammates to the right spot stood out during the academy workout. The vision that she has on the court complements her leadership abilities well. She seems to get the ball to her teammates on time, on target consistently. Ollivierre also understands the value of playing defense as well. She gets after it on the defensive end and hounds opposing ball handlers into tough plays. The area that she will need to improve is strength with her weak hand. Gaining that confidence to turn the corner with her left will be needed as she climbs the ladder of competition.

One of the youngest campers in the building, Ollivierre’s intellect on the floor is far beyond her years. She even served as the demonstrator during one of the shooting drills making more than her fair share from 17 feet out. Ollivierre’s demeanor at such an early age bodes well for her longterm progress. As she gets more comfortable attacking and passing with either hand, the game will keep getting easier for her.
