Morris is a skilled, smooth combo guard who can affect the game in multiple ways. She hits shots from the perimeter both off the catch and off the pull-up. Her consistency is what makes her so effective. At the same time, Morris rarely forces the issue, but instead is willing to make the extra pass. She is a competitor who can lead and be vocal with her teammates. Morris is a solid athlete as well as she showed she can get downhill to attack the bucket. She could work on her lateral explosiveness, however. Maximizing her athleticism will allow her to defend either guard spot in the future while also being a versatile offensive threat to score.
Morris is a skilled floor general. She checked many of the boxes that teams will need from a point guard. She can handle versus pressure, hit jumpers and get her teamamtes into an offense. Her leadership qualities separated her as one of the better guards in the building during this camp. Morris is a good athlete and certainly capable of holding her own versus anyone on the court. However, maximizing her athleticism and explosivenss in years to come will be important for her on both ends of the court.
Morris showed her smooth jumper at the camp this weekend. Her fluid, confident stroke allows her to be accurate even with a hand in her face. Her ball handling skills are solid and she can handle pressure from on ball defenders. Finding ways to become a threat to drive the ball north and south will add dimensions to her game.
Morris is steady point guard who handles the ball effectively in the back court. She showed that she can drive the ball to the hole and create plays. Morris also demonstrated that she can finish with her weak hand around the rim, which is an important skill for a smaller guard like Morris. The important skill that Morris will need to develop in years to come is consistency on her jumper. This will help off set the few inches that she gives up to many players at her position.
Morris is a guard who is still growing her game and her understanding of how to impact consistently. She is skilled, fundamental and showed the ability to hit the perimeter jumper. We will want to track her development as she adds dimensions to her game.
