Johnson is a high energy wing forward with size and versatility. She showed range on her jumper out beyond the 3-point arc. She was also active on the glass and even led the fast break at opportune moments. Her off-hand finish on the move also drew positive marks in our notes. She showed the an array of skills to get open and score in the half court. She posted up smaller defenders and was active cutting off screens away from the ball. Her willingness to be vocal is a positive sign for her potential as a leader as well. One key detail for improvement for Johnson will be getting more consistent arc on her jumper. While she can certainly shoot the ball from the perimeter, increasing her percentages will be tied to getting her shot up.

Johnson has the size that most hybrid forwards in today’s game possess. As she continues to add to her shooting range, Johnson has a steady game on the inside rebounding and defending that allows her to provide a versatility next level players have. Add those qualities to her work ethic that was on display here and Johnson is a forward who will be firmly on our radar for the next 12 months.
Johnson is a strong framed front court player who could turn into a great mismatch prospect. Her aggressiveness and her ability to finish off the move lead to a lot of production. She turned in plenty of buckets in the pick and roll action during competitive play. Her versatility is her strong suit. She can face up on the wing or she can take her size and punish smaller defenders in the paint. Sometimes her greatest strength (aggressiveness) can turn into her biggest weakness. Knowing when to slow down and scale back her attacking nature will only make her measured attacks more profitable.
