Shelton is unique ball player with skill, size and instinct. She showed proficiency spotting up in the midrange and hitting open jumpers. She also is particularly good and pulling up off the dribble in the in between areas on the court. When Shelton does not have the ball in her hands is when she can really exert herself as a difference maker. Her willingness to move without the ball makes her the type of player that make her team’s offense run more smoothly. Add in her crafty ball fakes and she has a lot of the tools that are needed to contribute at the college level. A couple of the areas that Shelton will want to polish up as she prepares for the next level are paying attention to her 3-point percentage and her ball handling versus pressure. Being a consistent threat of 35% or greater from beyond the arc is the type of threat that will garner real attention from the opposition. Plus keeping her dribble lower versus pressure defense will help her be a capable secondary ball handler for her team. – Coach Hemi
