Based on this Film Room Evaluation, Yarnevich's overall game is progressing nicely. Her shooting range out past the 3-point line off the catch and shoot. Yarnevich has an immediate assertiveness that shows up on the hardwood that isn't present off of it. It's almost a mean streak where she locks in to make whatever play is needed on either end of the floor. Her size in the frontcourt is a plus and gives potential coaches a real bonus in figuring out how, when to use Yarnevich. Keep an eye on Yarnevich's left to right mobility. That's an area where she can keep developing to keep high level frontcourt options from beating her to the rim for scores or to the glass off misses. -- Brandon Clay | @BrandonClayPSB
This was my first Filmroom evaluation on Yarnevich's game in multiple years. She's progressed nicely based on what I saw the last time that I broke down the tape. Her high release on the jumper forces post defenders to make a choice on closing hands high which allows Meghan to attack them with their body extended. Yarnevich also displayed real shooting range out to the 3-point line in game. That's a tough combination. She can keep growing in shot creation by using her build to jab directly at opposing defenders forcing them to make a choice in the process. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
From Brandon Clay's Spotlight Workout
We worked with Yarnevich back in February. Her game has progressed nicely since then. Yarnevich has the skill, size to be a consistent threat on both ends inside and outside. Her blend of outside shooting coupled with interior play is perfectly tailored to the modern era of frontcourt play. Despite the limited playing opportunities for kids this summer, Yarnevich didn’t look a bit out of rhythm especially in gameplay.
Yarnevich is a left-handed interior player who has skills and instincts. She is strong versus contact and can block shots on the defensive end as well. Her ability to score consistently on the interior is a skill that will translate well as she climbs the ranks. Her mentality and feel for the game are what stood out the most to our staff. She cut back door when pressured in the high post. She played with a chip on her shoulder and played with unusual toughness for a seventh grader. The one area where Meghan can improve upon right away is confidence in her weak hand finish. -- Coach Hemi
