Fears is a willing passer on offense. She will talk on defense then get downhill to make a play on the other end. She's creative with the basketball in her hands and a solid on ball defender at the same time. Fears is capable of defending the primary attack but has to work on staying on her feet for the counter especially at the guard position. -- Brandon Clay
Fears is a confident ball handler capable of making an array of plays on the floor. She slashes to the bucket quickly and is a tough cover for most defenders on the perimeter. As quick as she is slashing to the basket, she is equally capable at making shots from beyond the arc. The rising freshman showed a unique feel for the game. She created angles to pass and feed the post in traffic. As good as Fears is at slashing and passing with either hand, she still has room to grow when finishing around the rim with her off hand.
Fears has the mentality to be a point guard. Her quickness allows her to scoot past hesitating defenders. Once into the lane, she does a fantastic job of finding the open shooters around the perimeter. Her ball handling skills are advanced as you could expect for a current seventh grader. She probes the defense with her weak hand and when the help pinches on her penetration, she quickly back dribbles into a better situation. Fears still has time and areas to smooth out in her game. However, she is off to a great start as a middle school ball handler. Proving that she can find her own shot at opportune times will go a long way for her becoming a complete offensive player.
