- - Size
Gowdy is a guard with quickness and good footwork. She does a good job of getting her feet squared up when preparing for a shot on the perimeter. Her follow through was solid when she did get her feet underneath her. She was also great when reversing the basketball with the pass on the perimeter. And Gowdy is comfortable passing with either hand. The freshman is limited currently by her size. While she cannot control how tall she is, she can control the energy and activity that she brings to the court. We believe that she will more than overcome any height limitations with these attributes. – Coach Hemi
- - Footwork
Gowdy proved herself against some of the best guards her age at this camp. She showed the ability to get into the lane consistently to make plays from the point guard position. Even more importantly was her willingness to dish to teammates once she drew the help defense towards her attack. Perhaps the skill that will be the most valuable for Gowdy in upcoming years is her steadiness as a ball handler versus pressure. She kept her composure and limited her mistakes in this setting. Tightening up her footwork on her first step is an area of improvement for her. Keeping her pivot foot solid and her first step long will only make her tougher to guard from a triple threat stance. -- Coach Hemi

Gowdy is a smooth, competitive option in the backcourt. She has the end-to-end speed to be a factor on both ends of the hardwood. Offensively, Gowdy’s ability to develop a consistent knock down long range jumper will be a major separator in her and other guards in her size range.
