Al-Hameed is a left-handed guard with physical gifts and budding skills. She showed her slashing play-making abilities during the academy. She does a great job of getting downhill with her first step, which makes it tough for many defenders to contain her. Al-Hameed can be equally effective at defending the ball given her quick feet and strong core. Her jump shot appears to be coming along as well. She shoots it with consistency both on the spot up and off the dribble. Making sure she finds the arc and shoots the ball without stepping on the line will be critical for her future efficiency. – Coach Hemi

Al-Hameed was slated to train with us in February but had to reschedule until June. It was worth the wait. She’s got a quality build, foundation from which to grow her game from here. Al-Hameed got the chance here to be trained by Maddie Manning, who is from the same town that she is. Manning has played the collegiate game at the highest level during her career at Oklahoma and gave Al-Hameed multiple tips on shooting, footwork that will aid in her journey.
Al-Hameed is a tough left-handed guard who made a positive impression at this camp. Her tight handle and ability to hit jumpers off the move made her one of the more talented middle school prospects at the camp. Her toughness really stood out in this setting. She played through the hand check and scored in the lane even with a bump. Her release off the dribble is very quick, which is a unique skill for a younger player. Continuing to polish her playmaking skills and setting up teammates will be important for Al-Hameed at the point guard position.
