The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame have reached into the 2019 class to pick up their point guard of the future in Anaya Peoples of Danville, Illinois. The 5-foot-10 guard chose Notre Dame over Connecticut and South Carolina, having recently made an unofficial visit to the latter.

The five-star prospect is the school’s first commitment in the 2019 class. Peoples will arrive at campus following what is now a four-player class in 2018 for the Irish. Committed to date in 2018 are No. 12 Jenna Brown of Marietta, Georgia; No. 14 Katlyn Gilbert of Indianapolis, Indiana; No. 74 Abby Prohaska of Lakota, Ohio; and No. 92 Danielle Cosgrove of Farmingville, New York.
"Peoples is a dynamic guard who has shown over the years a dedication to improvement,” Brandon Clay of the JumpOffPlus.com International Report, said. “Her length in the backcourt coupled with her physical development make her an elite prospect nationally. She is capable of making all the plays you'd want a lead guard to complete. Peoples is a high level shooter, ball handler, passer and defender at the point guard position. She's arguably the most talented guard prospect the Irish have signed since Skylar Diggins."
One thing is certain, the Irish have a future with talent and depth in the backcourt which is only bolstered by the addition of Peoples.
