Capps projects to be an impactful collegiate player, because of her size and diversity of skills. Finding post players who are competent with footwork and touch around the rim is often rare in girls’ grassroots basketball. However, not only is Capps able to score consistently in 1/1 situations on the low block, but she is able stretch the floor with her jumper. For these reasons, she can play in a two-post system where she is the trail-4 player. Or she can play the 5 and line up four guards around here to isolate her on the low block. Her track record is proven on the summer circuit as well as with her high school team. Capps is a quality prospect who has earned everything that has come her way. Her area of improvement heading into her senior year and beyond is to maximize her athleticism. While there are players who may be quicker or can jump higher, Capps can generally find ways to be effective. Yet at the college level, she will need to make physical conditioning as much of a priority as skill set.
Capps is a post player who likes to face the basket and shoot the perimeter jumper. She has good hands and court awareness to be able to facilitate the action at the top of the key. Long term we believe that Capps can turn into a inside/out 4-player who can produce both inside and out. Her challenge moving forward will be to get to the point where she can defend the perimeter as well as she can play on offense.
