Berg’s game has taken a jump from a year as her confidence has risen along with her frame growing. Now 5-7, her skill and court vision are starting to show up more often than past years. She is attacking the basket with confidence and continues to improve her perimeter shooting. She has really improved in all the areas we noted a year ago. She shares the ball and if she can keep working on her lateral quickness and strength now that’s she grown and is in high school, she’ll stay on this trajectory of consistent improvement.
Berg showed a lot of toughness in the drill work sessions and looked like she is starting to get more confident in her abilities on the floor. Her ball-handling has improved since we last saw her and her footwork into her shot is cleaner and more on balance. She has grown in strength over the last year as well. Berg didn't play in the games on Sunday, but her showing on Saturday had us excited about the strides she's made this past year.
Berg is a class of 2022 guard that continues to get better each year we see her play. She made some really good reads off the ball screen to the rolling post where she threaded the needle which was great to see her make those type of plays. Her IQ on the floor is high and while her confidence limits the opportunties she takes on the floor, she is becoming more and more comfortable about what she is able to do. She has a great shot that she makes with good rhythm and release point. It looks pretty coming off her hands, so keys for her will be moving without the ball more to find seperation and just looking for her shot more even if there is a little pressure being applied to her. Overall, Berg is still developing, but her upside is obvious because of her growth each year.
| Berg is a young point guard that did a really good job competing as one of the youngest players in the showcase. She showed great instincts on the floor and showed she has a strong understanding for the game. Her IQ and reads on the floor were crisp, but going forward, she needs to continue to develop more confidence which will come with more play and experience. She showed she was capable of knocking down a long range shot, and as she continues to build more strength, shooting from range will be one of her strengths. Berg has a lot of potential as a developing point guard and showed she has the motor to compete on the floor. |
