Recap: Rockin' The Hardwood II

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - In just its fourth year, Rockin’ The Hardwood has become the state’s top club season tournament. Hosted by Michael Hogue and Team Arkansas Elite, 72 of the region’s top teams convened to compete and be seen by the ProspectsNation.com staff. Here’s our second look at some of the standout players from the event.

Chelsea Dungee (Okmulgee, Okla.) - Team Arkansas Elite – 2016

Dungee, who hails from Preston High School, plays at a Class AA school with an enrollment of just over 300 students. Though Dungee is a big fish in a small pond, she proved this weekend that she can play with the best of them. The Oklahoma verbal received an expense-paid invitation to the USA Basketball 16-and-under trials in late-May. At 5 feet 9, Dungee has the size to play off the ball and her ability to stretch the floor with her jump shot at this stage reminds us of recent Oklahoma standout Whitney Hand.

On this evaluation, Dungee was impressive carrying the brunt of the scoring load for her club team against some of the top teams in the region, including Missouri Phenom. In that game, she went toe-to-toe with four-star junior prospects Lauren Aldridge and Chayla Cheadle more than holding her own in the process. Dungee showed that she can score the basketball and is improving her overall floor awareness at the same time. Colorado Springs will be a quality evaluation opportunity as we see how she stacks up in her class. For now the future looks bright for both Dungee and the Sooners.

AROUND THE RIM

Lauren Aldridge of Marshfield, Mo., joined Missouri Phenom for her final season on the club circuit. It appears that the move is going to pay big dividends for the 5-7 junior guard as she prepares to play for the Kansas Jayhawks in 2014-15. A four-star prospect, Aldridge is getting to play both on and off of the basketball, which should aid in her development as she can knock down the open 3-pointer.

♦ Keep an eye on Kianna Williams of San Antonio, Texas. The class of 2017 prospect showed promise throughout the weekend with an ability to handle the basketball against pressure.
