Sydney Wiese currently sits at No. 9 on the 2017 WNBA Draft Board. The sharp-shooting Oregon State guard from Arizona turned herself into a viable first-round selection over the course of her career by making shots. This season, Wiese is torching the nets yet again shooting 46.8 percent from the field, 48.3 from beyond the arc while averaging 15.2 points per. She’s already the PAC 12 leader with most made career 3-pointers.
Here’s a look at her ability to breakdown opposing defenders:

A potential threat at either guard spot, Wiese is also active in other categories as well posting 5.2 rebounds a game and almost a 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio as well. She’s a multi-dimensional prospect who understands the game and plays with a passion. In that way, she reminds me of Courtney Vandersloot as Wiese makes up for a lack of elite level explosiveness with her savvy.
Take a look at Wiese's willingness to attack the lane while the potential No. 1 pick in this year’s Draft, Kelsey Plum, defending her one-on-one:

“She’s the toughest person for me to guard in the Pac-12,” Plum said. “She will make you pay every time. She’s a winner. She’s a gamer.”
Hansen’s Take:
Wiese has shown just how much of an impact player she is as her Beaver’s are at the top of the Pac-12 again, even after her team graduated two second round WNBA draft picks in Jamie Weisner and Hamblin. Her scoring and scoring efficiency has gone up with no drop off in her production assisting teammates. She has the respect of all her opposition.
