Haleigh Timmer of Rapid City, South Dakota, has given her verbal commitment to South Dakota State University.  The 5-foot-10-inch guard carries a four-star rating from ProspectsNation.com and is on the ELITE 150 Watch List for the 2021 class.  She chose SDSU after interest from Lehigh, South Dakota, Vanderbilt and others.

Timmer was a standout for her North Tartan club team as well as a 1,000 point scorer at St. Thomas More High School (S.D.).  She also put on a show at the 2019 Check Me Out Showcase in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She showed a competitive edge on both ends of the floor and a knack for slashing and scoring.  Her relentless style lead her to be mentioned in the post event recap of standouts (link).

Timmer brings a versatile swiss army knife of sorts to the South Dakota State roster. She’s a capable scorer, rebounder and defender. Timmer shoots it well from the outside with her feet set but has proven at the high school level that she’s a premier slasher off of the bounce. Physically, she has the strength to defend multiple positions and is a consistent threat to grab five to seven rebounds a night. She finished with 22.8 points, 58 percent from the field, 42 percent from the 3-point line and 6.5 rebounds per contest this school season. She was named First-Team All-State as a result.
