MARIETTA, Ga. – The second half of July started with a bang at All Tournament Players Park. The field of competition was loaded as was the backline of college coaches who were in the building to take in the action. The highlight of the night was the exhibition match-up between All-Ohio Black and The New Jersey Lady Sparks where six ELITE 100 prospects took the floor at one time or another. Here is a quick look at a few of the top performers from today.

Kathryn Westbeld (Kettering, Ohio), All Ohio Black -- 2014

The 6-foot-2 forward is a proven performer, thus the reason why ProspectsNation.com has her ranked as the No. 33 player in the class of 2014. However, Westbeld proved yet again tonight why coaches are anxiously awaiting her verbal commitment this fall. By scoring a team high 15 points in her team’s game versus the New Jersey Lady Sparks, the versatile 4-player ensured a victory in a hotly contested exhibition game. This was game of disrupting defense which prevented offensive rhythm for both teams. Nevertheless, Westbeld proved to be a match-up nightmare for the Sparks as she scored over and around the defenders in the lane. Look for the talented forward to be a reason why All Ohio Black makes a run for the championship in the @JLHemingwayPSB bracket this week.

AROUND THE RIM

♦ The No. 53 ranked player in the ELITE 100, Kristina King of Thomasville, N.C., had her motor running at full throttle tonight. The 6-3 forward did it with shotblocking and rebounding in the first half against the Atlanta Lady Celtics. However, in the second half she put her team in the lead to stay with 12 points. Her unique blend of skill and height make her an impossible matchup for most teams.

Brea Elmore came out blazing once again from the field tonight. The 5-7 guard from Stone Mountain, Ga., is legitimate class of 2014 ELITE 150 watch list prospect. Her ability to shoot off the catch and the bounce is special.

♦ The big stage in Marietta provided an eye-opening performance from Kahlia Lawrence of Columbus, Ga. The 5-8 shooting guard has a mid-range game that is killer. As a class of 2014 graduate she will be a name that will pop up on the radar of several coaches this fall.

♦ Class of 2015 forward Mika Wester got the attention of our ProspectsNation.com staff this afternoon. The skilled wing player can handle on the perimeter and score in the lane. Her play helped her Nautilus Express team knock off a talented Kentucky Premier Cowles team.
