Hannah Jump of San Jose, California, won’t have to travel far to play her college basketball after verbally committing to Stanford. The 5-foot-11-inch guard from Pinewood High School chose the Cardinal this week, giving Tara Vanderveer and her staff their first commitment in the 2019 class.
I’ve committed to Stanford! Dream come true\ Forever grateful for my family, coaches, and teammates who have pushed me and made me into the person I am today! #committed #fearthetree pic.twitter.com/5wCmtFH8Ya

Jump is a four-star rated prospect who is ranked No. 63 in the class on the ProspectsNation.com ELITE 100 fits the style that Stanford has played historically. This current season is rarity in that the Cardinal don’t have a high volume shooting specialist in the 35-plus percent range from three. Jump should have no problem going in and playing the role of 2017 graduate and LA Sparks draft pick Karlie Samuelson. Both are big shooting guards who can get their shot off, even with a hand in their face.
Jump should complement Stanford’s 2018 recruiting class which includes McDonald’s All American point guard Jenna Brown of Marietta, Georgia, and the Hull twins, Lacie and Lexie, both 6-1 wing-forwards from Liberty Lake, Washington.
