On Friday, four-star guard Michelle Sidor made a verbal commitment to play her college basketball at Michigan for coach Kim Barnes-Arico and her staff. Sidor, a 5-foot-8 guard, is one of the premier perimeter shooters in the country and has the ability to make a similar impact on Michigan as departing senior guard Katelyn Flaherty, another New Jersey resident, made in her career.
Throughout her prep career, Sidor has earned a reputation as a prolific perimeter shooter. As a freshman, she led the state of New Jersey in scoring and was able to continue to turn heads on the Nike EYBL circuit. Unlike many of the elite shooters in the class, Sidor is as comfortable shooting off the bounce as she is off the catch. She is a smooth ball-handler who puts defenders in limbo as teams have to extend their defense because of the range on her jumper, but she has enough elusiveness off the bounce to beat defenders and make plays in one on one situations. Sidor should be able to thrive at Michigan with the freedom that coach Barnes-Arico is known to give her guards.
Up next for Sidor is the first stop of the Nike EYBL in Hampton, Virginia. Sidor and her New Jersey Sparks club team will be returning to the EYBL with a number of ELITE 100 prospects including Jaida Patrick and Kaelynn Satterfield.
