SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Peach State Basketball introduced the Real Deal to the Lone Star State last week. A handful of the top programs from the Southwest made the most of the NCAA 7-day evaluation week by playing in high level match-ups in this one-day showcase event. Here is a rundown on the standouts from the event.

Kiersten Beasley (Houston, Texas), Houston Hoops – 2019

Beasley displayed unique defensive versatility in both games she played. The 6-foot-1 forward uses her length and anticipation skills to block shots in the paint. At the same she has the footwork and lateral mobility to play at the top of a full court press. She brought constant energy to the court and even showed some offensive scoring ability.

Myra Bell (San Antonio, Texas), BIAH Gold - 2020

Bell is a guard who is poised to blow the lid off her recruitment this July. She is a 5-11 guard with intriguing tools in the toolbox. She showed a shake-n-bake game in transition that led to paint finishes. She followed that up with pull-up 3s in the secondary break action. Pencil Bell onto the watch-list heading into next school year.

Paige Bradley (Dallas, Texas), San Antionio’s Finest Mirez – 2021

Bradley is a certified San Antonio Finest guard. Her ability to hit clutch shots and compete cemented that reputation. With Finest alum (Amber Ramirez) on the sideline coaching her up, it should not come as a surprise. She launched long range daggers from the arc both off the dribble and off pin-down screens. Add in her fearless ability to attack the lane and Bradley could become a signature prospect for the Finest in upcoming years.

Alexis Brown (Dallas, Texas), Urban Heroes Elite DJ - 2020

Brown led her team with classic point guard qualities during the showcase. The left-handed guard pushed the tempo in transition. She got the ball moving quickly with pitch ahead passes and drive and kick dishes. Brown could be classified as small at 5-4, but she more than makes up for it with productivity on both ends of the court.

Jordyn Carter (Austin, Texas), AD Elite 17U – 2019

Carter had a big opening game at the showcase with 15 points over the Lady Dominators. In this match-up she proved to be a dual scoring threat. She slashed and finished at the basket. She also displayed a consistent high follow through with her jump shot on the perimeter. Carter displayed many of the skills needed to play a combo-guard role at the next level.

Syndey Cajero (Cibolo, Texas), San Antonio’s Finest Tay Bo – 2019

Cajero got the attention of coaches first thing in the morning of the Real Deal Showcase. She is a 6-2 post that has soft touch and mobility around the basket. She also showed a nice feel in the ball screen and slip action. Given the scarcity of quality prospects at this position, expect Cajero to field several calls coming out of the July viewing periods.

Ariyanna Hall (Little Rock, Arkansas), Arkansas ICE Gold - 2019

Hall made her impression quickly in an early morning match-up with the Houston Hoops. She is a quick point guard who gets from baseline to baseline in a hurry. Her ability to attack the gaps in transition make her a difficult cover. Coach Doug Williams gets the most out of her abilities by keeping the ball in her hands often.

Kaley Perkins (Houston, Texas), CyFair Premier Black - 2021

Perkins is an underclassman that should quickly get on the radar of college coaches this July. She is a 6-1 guard who does several things well on the court. Often coaches will try to slap the oversized perimeter player with the guard label. In this case, Perkins truly does fulfill many guard duties. She hit 3s off the replace cut in the ball screen and dive action. While she also showed plenty of left-right-left slinky-ness to get her own shot in the midrange.

Liz Scott (Tomball, Texas), San Antonio’s Finest Cee Lou – 2019

Scott’s progress as a prospect is impressive. She displayed hybrid forward skills both in the open court and in the slow down half-court set. She is still best when she attacks the glass as a rebounder and a paint scorer. Yet her dribble breakdown moves with a combination of step backs and jabs would catch is eye-opening. Scott has the defensive versatility to defend 3 through 5 on the court. But good luck to any coach that tries to hide their heavy-footed power forward on Scott when she faces up on the perimeter. Already listed as a 5-star prospect in the class of 2019, Scott is making a push even stronger towards the tops of the rankings.
