After a competitive April evaluation period and ample early spring scouting opportunities from coast to coast, it is time to expand the rankings for prospects in the 2015 class. SEE THE 2015 ELITE 100
This class has relative balance across all five positions, a bit of a change from last years point guard-heavy group. In addition, no state has 10 or more prospects calling it home right now. The question still looms for this class; will a true post player emerge as a top 10 prospect?
Two of the biggest movers at the top of the rankings were Jordan Hosey of Pearland, Texas, and Taylor Murray of Odenton, Md. Hosey was previously ranked 21st in the class but after outstanding play at the DFW March Fest, Cy-Fair Invitational and the April evaluation weekend with her Cy-Fair Shock team, she moved into the top 10 at No. 8. Murray moved up from playing 15u much of last summer to the top division of major tournaments and proved she was up for the task, moving up to No. 11 after being ranked 20th coming in to the spring season.
Asia Durr of Douglasville, Ga., maintains her spot at No. 1 overall in the class. She is followed by Katie Lou Samuelson of Fullerton, Calif., and Tea Cooper of Powder Springs, Ga. Jessica Shepard of Lincoln, Neb., a Nebraska commit, moved up to No. 4, followed by Napheesa Collier of OFallon, Mo., and Arike Ogunbowale of Milwaukee, Wisc., rounding out the group of five-star rated players.
Two players moved in to the top 40 after being previously unranked. Duke commit Haley Gorecki of Palatine, Ill., is No. 31 in the ELITE 100, and Cal commit Kristine Anigwe of Phoenix, Ariz., moved into the top 40 at No. 39. SEE THE 2015 ELITE 100
Up next are three highly competitive weeks of evaluations with the West Coast Premier Invitational, the USA Basketball U17 and U18 national team trials, the Midwest Showdown and culminating with the EBA Super 64 Camp, after which the ProspectsNation.com staff will revisit the ELITE 100 prior to the July evaluation period.
