Recruiting Rundown is back as the 2022 class winds down with a look at four major commits in the last week.

Stanford Lands PG

Talana Lepolo of Antioch, California, gave her verbal commitment to Stanford.  The 5-foot-7 point guard is fresh off her summer helping the Cal Stars EYBL program win a Nike Nationals championship.

“Talana is a competitor who has competed and had success at the highest levels in both the Nike EYBL and  with her high school program,” Cal Stars director and 17U EYBL head coach said. “She has earned the ultimate respect as the best point guard in the country from her competition, both players and coaches alike. Stanford is getting a true floor general and I am excited to watch her career un fold in Palo Alto.”

Lepolo’s play at the point was impressive this spring and summer.  She calms every possession but can kick her team into fast transition play at any point.  Her strength with the ball makes pressuring her really difficult.

Lepolo is an ELITE 25 Watch List prospect who carries a 4.5 star rating from ProspectsNation.com. She joins fellow Cardinal commit Lauren Betts, a 6-7 post from Centennial, Colorado.

Washington Getting Long In 2022

Tina Langley’s imprint on the Washington Huskies is already showing in her first recruiting class adding length and shot-making on the perimeter.

Langley and her staff picked up their second and third high school verbal commitments from the 2022 class in 5-11 combo guard Elle Ladine of San Francisco, California, and 5-10 combo guard Hannah Stines of La Mirada, California.

“Hannah has a true feel for the game,” George Quintero, director and coach of Team Taurasi, said. “Her play-making ability allows her create opportunity for players that have the will to score. She offers the composure to manage a team that will allow Coach Langley the confidence for Hannah to lead the team.”

Ladine and Stines were teammates on the Cal Storm Team Taurasi EYBL program this summer.

“Elle is electric in all that she does,” Quintero said. “A fierce competitor, passion for all aspects of the game and the ultimate teammate.  The opportunity that Hannah and Elle have to help establish a winning culture makes Washington a perfect fit for them. The relationship that these two young ladies share on and off the court will allow them a seamless transition to next level.”

“Coach Langley  demonstrated incredible desire to coach and develop Elle and Hannah for the next four years,” Quintero added. “Coach Langley's professionalism and work ethic from day proved to be important in Elle and Hannah decision.”

They will join prior UW commitment Teagan Brown of El Dorado Hills, California.  All three players are on the ProspectsNation.com ELITE 150 Watch List.

Tonie Morgan To Tech

Tonie Morgan of Tallahassee, Florida gave her verbal commitment to Georgia Tech.  Morgan, a 5-9 point guard, chose the Yellow Jackets over finalists Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Oregon.

“Morgan brings the Yellow Jackets arguably the most highly sought after recruit in Fortner’s tenure to date,” Brandon Clay, publisher of ProspectNation.com and director of the BCS Training Academy, said.  “She is a potential difference maker from day one on the Flats. Morgan has the ability to get downhill in a hurry coupled with the skill needed to get shooters open looks. As she progresses in her decision making, her future teammates should be the recipients of numerous Morgan assists in the process.”

Morgan will join Raeven Boswell, a 5-10 guard from Austin, Texas, and Paris Miller, a 5-10 guard from Hampton, Georgia, in Nell Fortner’s 2022 signing class.
