Miami (Fla.) added another piece to its 2016 class when the No. 18 ranked player in the International ELITE 25, Serena-Lynn Geldof of Belgium, signed with the ACC school. Geldof, who stands 6 feet 6 inches, was a member of the U18 Belgium European Championship team where our ProspectsNation staff had the opportunity to evaluate her and rate her as a four-star college prospect.
In addition to elite size, Geldof will bring an emerging interior offensive game to coach Katie Meier and her staff. She does a good job using her length both offensively and defensively. She is able to shape up in the post and use a jumphook to get off clean attempts at the rim and defensively her length can act as a rim protector, deterring opponents from getting clean shots in the paint. There are things Geldof will need to do early in her college career in order to see the floor but when she gets stronger and develops her core more, Geldof has the potential to be a consistent contributor.
Geldof joins another member of the International ELITE 25 Sarah Mortensen of Denmark as the second addition to Miami’s 2016 class. In addition to Geldof and Mortensen, Miami has two transfers sitting out this year. Shaneese Bailey, who moved from FAU, will have two years to play and Neydja Petithomme, who moved from Auburn, and will have three years to play.
