Vitals
Name: Kelsee Arnold Grad Year: 2015
Location: Fayetteville, Ga. School: Mundys Mill HS
Current Position: SG/PG Projected Position: SG/PG
Strengths
At 5 feet 7, Arnold has shown that she can play both guard positions. She has shown progression in multiple facets of her game since our first evaluation. Showing that she can get into the second level of the defense to create her own shot was key for Arnold this calendar year. She did just that. The long-range shooter averaged 15.3 points and five assists per game during the 2013-14 school season. During the travel season, Arnold led the Hoopstars to key wins over some of the nations top teams including All-Ohio Black and Boise Hoop Dreams. Like she did during the Elite Basketball Academy Fab Five Camp, Arnold was there with a timely basket whenever Hoopstars coach JD Davis dialed up her number.
Defensively, Kelsee showed a willingness to get her hands on passes often times converting those deflections or steals into easy transition baskets on the other end of the floor. In-game patience is another area in which weve noticed growth in Arnolds game. ProspectsNation.com Assistant Director of Scouting, Jonathan Hemingway, noted that Arnold has slowed down and is making better reads on a consistent basis. That skill has allowed her game to thrive and progress to another level this summer.
Area To Improve
Strength will continue to be a point of emphasis over the next 12 months for Arnold. Being strong enough to take the initial bump from her defender while being smart enough not to get into the lane drawing contact from the second line post defender will only make life easier for her scoring the ball off of the dribble. Arnold should be able to make a living between eight to 12 feet going forward if she continues to progress at the rate she did this past season.
The Bottom Line
For Arnold, producing in the classroom is as important as it is on the hardwood. She is the Student Government President at her school, maintains a 4.1 GPA and sports a 1,410 three-part SAT score. The combination of her dedication to both areas makes her even more appealing as a potential recruit.
