Conner Stays In Arizona
Madison Conner of Chandler, Arizona, gave her verbal commitment this week to Adia Barnes and the Arizona Wildcats. The No. 56 player in the ProspectsNation.com ELITE 75 chose Arizona over finalists Marquette, Maryland and Washington.
Conner is a dynamic point guard prospect with good size at 5 feet 11. She creates off the dribble and can beat you scoring or with the pass. She has expanded her range and confidence over the last year.
Conner will hit campus in Tucson just in time as Aari McDonald, the 2020 Ann Myerers Drysdale winner and WBCA All-American, will graduate next year.
Wilson Going ACC
Nyah Wilson of Duncanville, Texas, recently gave her verbal commitment to Syracuse. The four-star guard is the first player to commit to the Orange in the 2021 class. The 5-9 guard is on the ProspectsNation.com ELITE 100 Watch List for the 2021 class.
Wilson, who plays with the Cy-Fair Elite during the club season, made a trip to Seattle last summer to compete in the Check Me Out Showcase and captured the attention of many in attendance. Her explosive play was written about by Brandon Clay in his recap of underclassmen.
Her ability to get downhill and elevate in traffic to score really stood out. She can get to the rim or score in the mid-range. She’s coming in on the heels of Syracuse’s six-player 2020 signing class that ProspectsNation.com ranked No. 4 in the nation. She should fit well in the fast-paced style Quintin Hillsman has had success with, which included reaching the national championship game in 2016.
Miles First Ivey Commit At Notre Dame
Olivia Miles, the No. 4 ranked player in the ProspectsNation.com ELITE 75, has announced her verbal commitment to Notre Dame not two days after Niele Ivey took over for Muffet McGraw.
Miles, the 5-11 point guard from Phillipsburg, New Jersey, has the size, handle and moxie to be a lead guard for a national program. She’s also shown she can share a backcourt with other talented guards as her Blair teammate Dominique Darius is a recent UCLA commit.
Miles ability to contribute in the ACC is projected as obvious given her five-star rating. Perhaps more impactful is it shows Ivey’s return has brought momentum to recruiting following the worst season in the program’s history.
